A process server referred to as a ‘Munjama’, was tasked with the responsibility of sending court summons to those who were required to attend various civil/criminal cases. Their remuneration, a salary of Ksh.60 a month plus a bicycle allowance of Ksh.40, was considered honorary 🙂 They also served as security guards of the court and they also ensured that the accused didn’t escape from custody.
