Alloyce In Town.
After a long and sweet hibernation I’m back to blogging \o/..
My good friend Alloyce from NRB came over and organized a meet with a few photographers and what a better way to kick off 2015 with a sunrise shoot..
Minimalist shot of the silhouetted mountain backed by the lovely sunrise.
As the day bids farewell to night, light slowly creeps into being. Dispersing the dark skies in a beautiful display of natures lovely colour bands-orange to blue then to violet. Marvels of nature
There’s a moment-a pause-when the dark gives in and the light wants out. Such moments only sunrises can offer.
We left town at around 0630 hrs and headed for a viewpoint approximately 15 minutes away in the outskirts of town.
The beautiful sunrise was a big warm for the early birds.
Back-lit dead fruits as the sun pierced onto land, shining on all in its path.
Sunrises are amazing, but also unpredictable. Sometimes only a brief window of opportunity is provided to catch the most amazing sunrises. A minute later and you miss a wonderful daybreak. Nothing lasts forever, so make every moment count
After the sun had risen, we headed back to town. I took this wonderful gadget (The iPhone 🙂 and mounted it as shown, giving a great opportunity for a time lapse…but didn’t 😦
Horizontal landscape photo of Mt. Kenya and the lush vegetation giving rise to the peak that is Mount Kenya.
A 20 minute drive from town led us to another breathtaking viewpoint. Just past Mathari Hospital on your to Ihururu Village.
After site-seeing at the viewpoint, we couldn’t resist going up the majestic Nyeri Hill (at the heart of the image above) expecting to have a wonderful panoramic view of Nyeri town. However, the forest within provided massive obstruction to the view 😦
The climb was quite amazing though, you should try it in 2015!
As you walk up and around the summit of Nyeri Hill, you are entertained to pockets of views of the Aberdare Ranges as illustrated above.
Surely a place you’ll be visiting soon
