Mount Kenya

One of many God's gift to us, Mt. Kenya.

Mt. Kenya at dawn

Oh my, what a view...

Mt. Kenya clear for all to see. The glaciers and the 3 major summits all clearly seen,

Mt. Kenya and the coffee widely grown around Nyeri.

Mt.Kenya at its best,

Mount Kenya, Africa’s second summit with its highest peak at 5,199m above sea level i.e Batian. The next two highest peaks are Nelion and point Satima at 5,188 and 4985m above sea level respectively. Other peaks include points Pigotts, Thomson and Thomson flake, Dutton, Melhuish, John, Peter and Midget Peak.( The first Ascent was by Sir Halford John Mackinder, Josef Brocherel, and Cesar Ollier on September 13, 1899. There are currently 11 small but shrinking glaciers on Mount Kenya. Little snow now falls on the mountain so no new ice forms on the glaciers. Climatologists predict that the glaciers will disappear by 2050 unless current temperature and precipitation changes occur. The Lewis Glacier is the largest on Mount Kenya.( I hope you’ve got something new about this great Mountain that epitomises Kenya(and Africa’s) beauty. I took the photos above during different times this year. The first quarter of the year provides breathtaking views of the Mountain’s peak. Enjoy and share 🙂

The Best Of Nyeri Hill

The kind of sunset you’d love to watch with someone special. And if lucky you might just watch a jet pass over the hill.

The phrase ‘As beautiful as the sunset’ should be documented. Here’s all the proof you need 😉

I really love watching the sun set behind this hill-As it deeps past the Aberdare Ranges coloring the sky orange.

Epic Sunset

On this particular day, you might say that the heavens were burning and the fire pierced through beautifully over Nyeri town as the hill stood firm as always.

Nyeri Hill

This is by fa the best photo of this Hill. Everything just fits in. The orange light (color description not accurate :), the hovering clouds and the back-lit Aberdare ranges all blending in perfect fashion. African Natural Beauty.

Nyeri Hill By Day

The only daytime photo in this post. Nyeri town, Aberadre ranges, Nyeri Hill and the forest within quite clear.

Shade of Blue

Took this photo early 2014, after acquiring my dslr. I promise I’ll bring you more of sunrises.
